90° Woodwork & Carpentry is a family-run studio in the Free State, South Africa, making bespoke hand-crafted furniture and custom builds in solid wood: cabinetry, kitchens, vanities, tables, built-in cupboards and doors, each one architecturally designed and built to last.

They needed a home on the internet: one clear page to show off their craftsmanship, walk people through how they work, and make it easy to get in touch. The brief was simple, the site had to look and feel as solid and considered as the pieces they produce.

No more than a page was needed, so a strong template was the right foundation to build on. 90° didn’t really have a brand yet, so I created a warm-toned colour palette inspired by their pieces, pulling from the timber and finishes of their work, to complement the imagery and give the site a consistent feel.

The photos were already shot, and the family had put real effort into capturing their work well, which gave me great material to design and write around. From there I adapted the Graft template to fit 90°, and structured the page around a strong, clear layout that guides visitors from who they are through to getting in touch.
